Maestro Isidro "Chilo" Hurtado

Meastro Chilo's career in the folklorico and mariachi world dates back to 1993, where he began dancing at Woodrow Wilson High School, in Los Angeles, CA. His natural talent was apparent, when after only a month, he was invited to rehearsals with Danza Teocalt, directed by Miguel Angel Diaz. In 1996, Maestro Chilo began dancing at the legendary La Fonda de Los Camperos, where he danced on a weekly basis and was invited to tour with Award-Winning Mariachi Los Camperos for the next ten years. In 2006, Chilo took on the title of Principle Dancer at Casa Sanchez Restuarant, where he performed until 2017.
Meastro Chilo is currently Assistant Director of the Ballet Folklorico de Los Angeles and lead instructor of the group's 2nd Company. Chilo is one of the country's best "Zapateadores," who is an expert at dancing to live mariachi music.
